White City Celebrations In Tel-Aviv – Great Night!

“I’m almost 32 years old, so an event like the White Night is ether for people who are a lot younger than me, or people that have families and are a lot older than me” - apparently not!

Lately, I’m getting a feel that every time I think it’s going to be a crap night, i find out that I’m dead wrong, the white night turned out to be another great success and I found myself riding my bike home at 6 am.

So, what’s the White Night?

The White Night in Tel-Aviv is a night of celebrations all over the city. The reason for these celebrations is Tel-Aviv turning into an architecture land mark by UNESCO in 2003, because of it’s bahouse architecture.

A long white night out

Me and a few friends took our bike around 11:30 at night and started riding them to Jaffa to see the big shows, we got a phone call from a great friend who said to leave that and head down to Bialik street to a street party.

It was a nice Gathring and a great place to sip a few beers and meet up with some people, at first the music was weird, but after a while, the music shifted to hip hop and the atmosphere was turning…..Drunk.

After about 2 hours there we started walking down the street back towards our bike and now (around 3 am) the streets were really packed! It was even hard to get a cold beer in almost every shop, the city was all happy!

It was the first time of my life that I rode my bike on the road on Ben-Yehoda Street drunk, while holding a half empty beer bottle, The sidewalks were full of people, and they were all heading to the same place..the Namal. (Namal=Tel-Aviv Port)

When we got there it was almost 4am, and I think they were around 20,000 people dancing to DJ Atmos Killer set. The atmosphere was crazy and the party lasted until about 6am! When it was done, we. Somehow got on our bikes and rode home….What a killer night :-)

(The sound is really bad in this video, sorry about that)
